
NEW YORK: Dan Klores Communications has landed a contract to boost communications surrounding Sprint's sports and entertainment sponsorships.
Sprint's major ongoing sponsorships include the NFL, the US Tennis Association, dozens of individual pro and college teams, and entertainment events like the Tonys and the Emmy Awards.
Sprint's work with NASCAR is not part of DKC's purview.
Mary Nell Westbrook, Sprint's director of marketing and sponsorship communications, said in a statement, "The process to select an agency was rigorous and included several elite firms."
"We tried to demonstrate to Sprint our ability to use creativity and experience in the worlds of sports and entertainment," said agency VP Scott Novak.
The size of the account was not disclosed.
Six staffers in DKCs New York office will be dedicated to the account. The agency has worked on other upscale hospitality clients, including W Hotels.
Briskin declined to reveal the value of the account. Peter Zudyk, who heads brand marketing for Hard Rock Hotels, did not return calls before press time.
