Rick Cerrone
Senior Vice President
Rick Cerrone, who has more than 30 years of sports public relations and marketing experience, joined Dan Klores Communications in January 2007 after 11 years as Senior Director of Media Relations for the New York Yankees. With the Yankees, he had significant experience in image enhancing and crisis counseling.
Prior to joining the Yankees in 1996, Rick served as Assistant Director of Public Relations for Major League Baseball’s Office of the Commissioner (1982-1986)—under Commissioners Bowie Kuhn and Peter Ueberroth—and as Vice President of Public Relations for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1987-1993). With the Pirates, he initiated the team’s successful efforts to host the 1994 All-Star Game and to erect a statue in honor of the legendary Roberto Clemente.
After earning a degree in Journalism from Northern Illinois University in 1976, Rick became the youngest editor and publisher of a nationally-distributed publication when he founded Baseball Magazine in 1977.
